Endellion Quartet

Sunday 24 January – 11am

Old Swan HotelEndellion String Quartet

Beethoven – String Quartet No.8 in E minor Op.59 No.2

Tchaikovsky - String Quartet No.3 in E flat Op.30

The Endellion is renowned as one of the finest quartets in the world and are famed for their interpretation of Beethoven’s works. Their Sunday Series programme has a Russian theme, featuring the first of Beethoven’s Op.59 Quartets, known as the ‘Rasoumovsky’ quartets because they were commissioned by the Russian ambassador to Vienna. The Russian flavour continues with Tchaikovsky’s beautiful and elegaic Third Quartet.

“In music of the Viennese Classical composers, the Endellion has few challengers”
