Welcome to the Green Space Festival, over the weekend we presented Yorkshire’s only dedicated street arts Festival. For our second year, the Festival expanded beyond its Knaresborough hub to encompass three more beautiful North Yorkshire towns, Harrogate, Ripon and Boroughbridge.
Explosive performances, vibrant music, crazy characters, music, puppets, comedy, acrobatics, not to mention our famous Knaresborough Continental Market, there was something for everyone.

Avanti Display: Stormbringer
Sat 30 June 10pm Knaresborough Castle
Stormbringer, centrepiece to this year’s Green Space Festival was performed in the stunning surroundings of Knaresborough Castle.
Based upon Shakespeare’s classic play, The Tempest, Stormbringer is a unique night time theatrical event that can only be performed outside. Combining music, song and strong visual imagery with the original words, Stormbringer was a richly textured poetic production, fusing fire and water, building to a breath-taking tempestuous finale.

Leak
Some locals have experienced bizarre happenings – water spurting out of television sets and iPods, the Archers coming out of taps, water is dripping from a large pipe emerging from the ground and occasionally a jet of vapour escapes from between the joints. A situation is being monitored. A V.I.P. visits. Spray began to fly.
