Preservation Hall Jazz Band
From New Orleans, the birthplace of Jazz, comes the world renowned Preservation Hall Jazz Band, named after one of the unmissable landmarks in New Orleans’ French Quarter. For over fifty years, the band has kept alive the traditions and history of this uniquely American sound. Many of the band’s charter members performed with the pioneers who invented jazz in the early twentieth century including Louis Armstrong, Buddy Bolden, Jelly Roll Morton and Bunk Johnson.
Masters of their craft and ranging in age from 31 – 88, the band represents the industry’s elite and tonight they launch the Festival with the glorious sounds and styles of the Big Easy.
“Preservation Hall, now that’s where you’ll find all the greats.”
Louis Armstrong
