An exceptional Gala Concert by the world’s most famous chamber orchestra, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields conducted by its founder, Sir Neville Marriner in a rare UK appearance to celebrate 40 years of Festival music making in the Royal Hall.
Now in his 80s, Sir Neville Marriner is undoubtedly one of the great British conductors of today and his contribution to the world of music remains unsurpassed. Sir Neville and the Academy are joined in this celebratory concert by the brilliant Dutch violinist, Simone Lamsma, and first prize winner of the China International Violin Competition 2005.
