In 2002, at the age of twelve, Jennifer Pike became the youngest ever winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition. Having started giving recitals at a very early age, she has since performed with the London Symphony Orchestra, City of London Sinfonia, European Union Chamber Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony, Liverpool Philharmonic and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras.

A rousing Czech themed programme performed by perhaps the busiest symphonic ensemble in Europe. Led by internationally acclaimed conductor Libor Pešek, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra has the perfect artistic credentials for this highlight of the Festival fortnight.

Dvorak’s Cello Concerto, composed during his second stay in America, is one of the most popular works in the orchestral repertoire whilst his masterpiece New World Symphony is one of the most loved and enduring symphonies.
