Each of our festivals and events attract new audiences into the region year on year, providing world-class entertainment and innovative events that put Harrogate on the map as an international centre for arts and culture.

Music of all kinds remains at the heart of our activities with the Summer Music Festival. Our strategic development is creating a portfolio of some of the country’s most prestigious arts events, featuring the biggest names in the arts world. In 2009 The Carnegie Sporting Words Festival in partnership with Leeds Metropolitan University brought together journalists, reporters and sportsmen to celebrate the words of sport. Highlights included a live broadcast from BBC 5live’s Fighting Talk, and the presentation of the Carnegie Sporting Words Festival Outstanding Achievement Award to Harry Gration.
