Harrogate International Festivals shortlisted for 2 prestigious awards  

 

     

The shortlist has been announced for the Arts & Business Yorkshire Awards 2007 and Harrogate International Festivals has been nominated for two prestigious awards that recognise its imaginative partnerships with Yorkshire organisations

The A&B Community Award is presented in recognition of a partnership that has successfully worked with the community and helped regeneration through engagement with the arts.  Harrogate International Festivals has been shortlisted for its relationship with Leeds Metropolitan University for its partnership of the Green Space Festival.

The Green Space Festival is Yorkshire’s only international street arts festival bringing innovative outdoor performance arts into rural settings, attracting performers of national and international prestige to market towns across the Harrogate District.  Harrogate International Festivals presented this festival in partnership with Leeds Metropolitan University, a university of festivals which is bringing to Yorkshire the best in international arts to the local landscape.  

Harrogate International Festivals’ partnership with T&R Theakston has been shortlisted for the new Arts, Business and Sustainability Award in recognition of a successful business & arts partnership which recognises ongoing partnerships between organisations that have continued to develop over a number of years. 

Theakstons sponsorship over the past 4 years has established the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival as the world’s leading crime fiction festival, creating a powerful brand that attracts best selling international crime writers and worldwide audiences.

William Culver Dodds, Harrogate International Festivals Chief Executive said “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for Awards that recognise how two of our important strategic partnerships are providing major cultural festivals for Yorkshire that enjoy a national and international impact”.

The Awards will be announced at a ceremony on Monday 26 November at the National Media Museum, Bradford.
