A record number of tickets have already been sold for the 14th annual Harrogate International Sunday Series, which will see a host of internationally acclaimed musicians perform the classical greats.
The Spring season of popular coffee concerts starts on January 21 at the Series’ new venue, The Cairn Hotel. In the first concert, highly acclaimed Russian classical pianist and Leeds International Piano Competition winner, Dmitri Alexeev, who will perform Schumann, Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky and Chopin.
February 4 welcomes the leading British pianist, Peter Donohoe who has performed annually at the BBC Proms and the Edinburgh Festival, followed by the Yorkshire debut of the Psophos Quartet, members of the BBC’s prestigious New Generation Artists Scheme, on February 18.
Award-winning cellist Natalie Clein takes the stage on March 18 with Festival favourite, clarinettist Emma Johnson returning to complete the prestigious line up on March 25.
William Culver-Dodds, Chief Executive of Harrogate International Festival, who programmes the Sunday Series, commented: “The Sunday Series is a tremendous springboard from which to launch our programme for 2007.
